Brad Pitt Boards Sci-Fi Feature 'Alpha'

Brad Pitt is set to produce the science fiction adventure film 'Alpha.'

Brad Pitt is teaming up with author Daniel H. Wilson (Robopocalypse) on a sci-fi feature titled Alpha. Pitt is set to produce the film with his Plan B production partners Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, who recently collaborated with him on 12 Years a Slave and World War Z.

Directing the movie will be newcomer Anthony Scott Burns, who is making his feature film directorial debut. The Canadian filmmaker most recently directed the horror TV series Darknet, but he is probably best known for the popular TRON: Destiny - Fan Trailer. Interestingly, one thing that convinced producers to hire Burns to direct Alpha was a fake commerical he made for a fictional company in the story.

Wilson, who came up with the idea for the film, will write the screenplay.

It is not yet clear if Brad Pitt will star in the feature. The actor can currently be seen in the war thriller Fury. His production company has a wide range of other projects in the works, including a big screen adaptation of the horror comic book Wytches.
