Inside Brandon Jennings' office at the Under Armour campus in Baltimore, a dry erase board scribbled with motivational sayings hangs on the far wall. None are clearer than the letters O.M.G., which stand for "on my grind," a daily reminder of what the Milwaukee Bucks point guard hopes to accomplish this summer.
Jennings is working as an intern for the brand he endorses, starting each day at 10 a.m., sitting in on regular meetings and contributing creative concepts to the footwear and apparel departments. But beyond office logistics, Jennings is working to get bigger, stronger and faster at the UA Combine Training Center, with trainer Nate Costa, co-founder of FX Studios.
STACK joined Jennings for a training session in which he spent more than an hour lifting with Costa, who put him through a routine loaded with combination movements and low rest periods. He used kettlebells, the TRX Suspension Trainer and explosive bodyweight exercises, complained not once, and pushed himself past the point of exhaustion, eventually collapsing on the floor of the weight room.
The results are already paying off for the Compton (CA.)-born guard: in only two months, Jennings has added about 15 pounds to his frame, and he says he feels more explosive than ever.
Which is saying something: Jennings is the youngest player in NBA history to score 55 points in a game. He also holds the single-season points per game scoring record at famed Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, where he put up over 35 ppg his senior year, better than Oak Hill's star-studded alumni like Rajon Rondo, Carmelo Anthony and Josh Smith.
