Iman Shumpert may be tied to the bench for a few more months while he recovers from off-season wrist surgery, but that doesn't mean the Cleveland Cavaliers guard will forego his good nutrition habits. In fact, as we've discussed before, eating well becomes even more important when you're on the mend.
Shumpert recently opened up to USA Today about his current eating habits, and we must say,we're impressed—although when you have your own personal chef, there's no excuse to be sneaking out for fast food.
Shumpert usually starts his day with a ham and spinach omelet, followed by a fruit and vegetable smoothie. For lunch, it's salad with a boiled egg and kale, though something a little more exotic, like clam chowder, isn't out of the question if his chef is feeling funky. Shump chows down on two dinners, one between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. and another around 9:00. The first is heavy, with something like steak or pasta, the second a little lighter, perhaps something like cooked salmon. If Shump is feeling extra saucy, he gets down on some tacos.
"Any type of tacos. Shrimp tacos, steak tacos, chicken tacos, lobster tacos," Shumpert said. "Then crêpes for dessert because they look like tacos."
The whole interview is worth a read, especially since Shumpert calls out J.R. Smith as the biggest junk food eater on the team, which actually comes as no surprise at all.
