Former STACK cover athlete Blake Griffin may not officially have a signature shoe, but he's the poster boy for the Super.Fly series, and Jordan's most recent iteration of the sneaker was crafted with him in mind.
Designers set out to create a shoe that would help Griffin fly even higher. The Super.Fly 3 features an updated Flight Plate, with a tendril that assists heel-toe transitions and exaggerates the effect of the Nike Zoom Unit in toe.
Stylistically, the shoe draws much of its inspiration from the Air Jordan XX9 (just peep the oversized Jumpman near the heel.) It also features the Flight Web system, which locks your foot in place and provides support for cuts, jumps and pivots.
"For the Jordan Super.Fly 3, I really wanted a shoe that allowed me to gain an explosive edge on court–with speed and my lift," Griffin said in a statement. "I really like that FlightPlate not only makes me feel more powerful throughout the game, but also gives me confidence when I'm taking flight."
The Super.Fly 3 will be available Oct. 1 at Jordan.com and worldwide retailers for $140.
