While Kobe Bryant has been working hard to rehab his torn Achilles, Nike has been in the lab cooking up something special for the superstar's return to the court. The brand just officially unveiled the Kobe 9 Elite basketball sneaker, and it will released to the public Feb. 8, 2014.
A radical departure from the low-top Kobe signature shoes of the past, the 9 Elite is the first basketball shoe to use Flyknit, a staple technology of Nike's running shoes, which makes the upper entirely out of single strands of yarn.
A knit collar gives the shoe a low-top feel while supporting the ankle like a high-top. The shoe also incorporates Nike's Lunarlon and Flywire technology.
Retail prices for the Kobe 9 Elite start at $225. Will you pick up a pair?
