Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight will hit theaters on Christmas Day.
Set in Wyoming several years after the Civil War, the movie stars Kurt Russell as bounty hunter John Ruth, also known as "The Hangman," who travels by stagecoach to the town of Red Rock, where he plans to bring fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) to justice. Along the way, they meet a former union soldier-turned-infamous-bounty-hunter (Samuel L. Jackson) and a Southern renegade (Walton Goggins), who claims to be the town's new sheriff.
Caught in a blizzard, members of this interesting quartet are forced to seek refuge at a stagecoach stopover called Minnie's Haberdashery, located in a mountain pass. However, instead of Minnie, who is said to be away visiting her mother, they find another eclectic foursome. As the storm rages on, deception and betrayal become part of the story, and it begins to seem like the travelers may not make it to Red Rock after all.
The film also stars veteran actor Bruce Dern (Nebraska), Demián Bichir (The Heat), Michael Madsen (Big Time in Hollywood, FL), Dana Gourrier (True Detective) and Tim Roth (Selma).
Tarantino wrote and directed The Hateful Eight, which is reminiscent of the his movie Django Unchained, another western dealing with 19th Century racial issues and featuring a bounty hunter.
