The tallest basketball player in the country has officially made his college decision for next year. With offers from several schools, including basketball powerhouses Georgetown and Georgia Tech, 7-foot-6 Tacko Fall is now set to attend the University of Central Florida.
"I think it was just a trust factor with coach Jones," Fall's host mother Mandy Wettstein told the Orlando Sentinel. "He has gotten to know quite a few of the players over there. I think he feels like he will be a part of an emerging basketball team. And I think he felt very comfortable with their engineering program. He is also a 4.0 student."
Fall told the Sentinel, "I feel peace at UCF, somewhere where I can grow up a lot. I know that I can help them bring the program to another level."
Originally from Dakar, Senegal, Fall has only been playing basketball in the U.S. for a couple of years. UCF is not far from his adopted family's home in Tavares, Florida, where he plays for Liberty Christian Prep.
