It's the ad that spawned a legion of E*TRADE talking baby commercials, and it still makes me smile today.
But when Grey New York, the agency behind the commercial, first produced it, they weren't sure whether it was a mess or a masterpiece.
"When we first created the baby, we had no idea if it was the dumbest thing we'd ever done or if it was genius," says Tor Myhren, chief creative officer at Grey, told Fast Company. "I was terrified."
The ad created a massive amount of buzz and E*TRADE saw a record-setting amount of new accounts created on their website the date after its airing.
That baby made big money for E*TRADE.
