New York Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis is surprising the NBA with his complete annihilation of put-back dunks.
Many thought that at 7-foot-3 and 240 pounds, Porzingis would get bullied down low by heftier low-post players, but Porzingis is quickly disproving that theory. Although he is lighter than most NBA centers, he has an uncanny ability to fly to the rack and dunk missed shots over some of the NBA's top big men.
Here is Porzingis dunking all over the San Antonio Spurs' LaMarcus Aldridge.
His next victim, Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Next, Porzingis throws it down against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Finally, his most recent put-back slam, against several Toronto Raptors.
Why is this happening? In each of these videos, he was not boxed out for the offensive rebound.
Porzingis is averaging 11.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks a game.
Oh, and there's this stat:
Porzingis has a league-leading 6 put-back dunks this season. Seven teams are looking for their first.
