Titanfall Update Introduces New Modes
Respawn Entertainment has released a sixth update for Titanfall, introducing several changes, including a new game mode called "Pilot Skirmish," which allows gamers to play in two teams of eight without Titans and AI-controlled drobots.
The developer also announced that the game's Marked for Death mode isn't going away, writing on its official website: "When we first introduced Marked for Death, we were planning to rotate it out for another mode after a couple of weeks, but the enduring popularity of the mode convinced us to bring it on full-time."
During a recent interview with OXM, community manager Abbie Heppe hinted that Respawn might soon be cutting back on support, however. "Obviously, if there's anything that totally breaks, then yeah, we'll absolutely fix that," Heppe said. "But we're going to have to wind down and then move on. We still have some cool stuff in the works before that happens."
New DLC Announced for Watch Dogs
A new expansion called "Bad Blood" will be released for Watch Dogs later this month, announced Ubisoft. The add-on, which will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, XBO, PS4 and PC, will allow gamers to play as Raymond "T-Bone" Kenney, who was first introduced in the story mode.
The DLC finds Kenney infiltrating Blume to plant a false trail. Just as he's about to make his escape, he receives a call from an old friend who may be leading him into a deadly trap. The add-on also introduces "Street Swap" contracts, a new side mission program that can reward Kenney with weapons, outfits and even a remote-controlled car.
"Bad Blood" will be released on Sept. 23 for Season Pass holders and Sept. 30 for everyone else.
New PayDay 2 DLC Resembles Battlefield
Overkill Software has released new DLC for PayDay 2, which pays homage to Battlefield developer DICE. The add-on's marketing includes songs that sound like they were pulled straight from Battlefield's soundtrack, along with an orange and blue color scheme. "Yes, this is us at Overkill tipping our hats to a fellow Swedish game developer," wrote Overkill on the game's Steam page. The Gage Assault Pack will introduce four new weapons, four new melee attacks, four masks, four materials, 28 mods, four patterns and ten achievements. It will cost $4.99.
In related news, Overkill recently announced plans to release a new The Walking Dead game.
New Assassin's Creed Rogue Trailer Released
The latest gameplay trailer for Assassin's Creed Rogue gives players a closer look at Assassin-turned-Templar Shay Patrick Cormac and his quest to exact revenge on those who betrayed him. "The Assassins were my brothers; now I hunt them to the ends of the earth, and I swear I will not fail," says Cormac in the clip.
A familiar face pops up in the video: Black Flag's first mate, pirate-turned-Assassin Adewale. Cormac and Adewale are clearly not happy to see each other, and they do battle both on ship and on land. Ade won't be the only returning character, either. Through Twitter last week, Ubisoft teased that Haytham Kenay, grandmaster of the Templars, will play a role in the upcoming title and may even fight alongside Shay. Check out the short video below.
Rogue will be released on Nov. 11 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
