Ultron's involvement in the upcoming Avengers sequel left many (including us) assuming that we would get an introduction to Ultron's creator from the comic books, Dr. Hank Pym. But Joss Whedon has since confirmed that his evil robot bent on world domination will not be a creation of the doctor's.
"Because there was a book called 'Age of Ultron' quite recently, a lot of people have assumed that is what we're doing, but that is not the case," revealed Whedon. "We're doing our own version of the origin story for Ultron. In the [original] origin story, there was Hank Pym, so a lot of people assumed that he will be in the mix. He's not. We're basically taking the things from the comics for the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the wayside."
Rumors suggest that Tony Stark will now be the mind behind Ultron, which makes sense, considering Iron Man's popularity among fans. What do you think about the change?
Avengers 2 will open in theaters on May 1, 2015.
