Peppering is a great volleyball drill to perform at practice or even to warm-up before games. Volleyball coach Sergio Rio of Club Med Academies in Sandpiper Bay, Florida explains in the video above how to correctly execute the drill.
Peppering works both offensive and defensive technique. While you are performing the drill, you want to make sure you are in low position for defense. Try to move to the spot where the ball is going to be before it gets there and get set before you return the ball. This will help you stay balanced to properly set your partner.
When you set the ball, set it high. This will help give you or your partner more time to get under the ball and have a nice comfortable look for your next hit. Peppering correctly will prepare you to build good habits for games. Peppering is a great drill that brings you defense, setting and hitting all in one.
