Last night, the Golden State Warriors beat the San Antonio Spurs to tie the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' record for 72 wins in an NBA season. No basketball fan would expect a Bulls player to hope the Warriors break their record, would they? Wait. What? Apparently Michael Jordan wants the Warriors eclipse his team's 72-win mark.
According to Warriors forward Draymond Green, the six-time NBA champion is cheering for Golden State to break the record. In an interview after last night's game, Green said, "Mike told me at All-Star, 'Go win the record. Go get the record. If y'all don't win this record, I'm going to be hot and I'm blaming you.'"
The Warriors' final game is at home on Wednesday against a hurting Memphis Grizzlies team. Odds are Jordan's wish will come true—assuming he really means it.
