When you weigh 335 pounds, jumping over stuff isn't usually in your athletic repertoire. Any elevation from the ground into the air is deemed a success. But Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Jordan Phillips laughs in the face of physics. He scoffs at your notion of athleticism. And he hurdles human beings in a single bound.
BIG MAN HURDLE ALERT @bigj9797 is 6-foot-6, 335lbs.
He just picked off Fitz.
And hurdled another human. https://t.co/PndZC7DejS— NFL (@NFL) November 6, 2016
In the third quarter against the New York Jets on Sunday, Phillips picked off the interception-prone Ryan Fitzpatrick. He opened the play by dropping into coverage, impressive enough for a big D-lineman. After making the interception with nothing but green grass in front of him, Phillips took off, attempting to run the 30 yards he needed for an improbably pick-6. He didn't make it, but he did hurdle Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson at the 20-yard line as Anderson attempted to tackle him low. It was a beautiful.
Jordan Phillips is an inspiration.
