Bryce Harper is a waffle fanatic.
Harper, the Philadelphia Phillies all-star outfielder, downs some before every game.
"I mean, I eat Eggo waffles — it has to be Eggo — right before the game. It's really weird. [Peanut butter] and honey. I mean, I'm really superstitious," Harper told Jimmy Kimmel in 2013.
That might sound strange, but peanut butter and honey waffles are actually a nice form of quick carbohydrates to help Harper top off his fuel tank before first pitch.
The closer you eat to the start of a game, the higher the percentage of carbohydrates your meal or snack should contain.
We're guessing Harper eats something a little more substantial 2-4 hours prior to the game and then crushes an Eggo minutes before he takes the field.
