Max Scherzer is the most intimidating pitcher in baseball.
The Washington Nationals ace brings a fiery presence to the mound along with some downright filthy stuff.
And how does Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young award winner, fuel up for his intense outings?
A gigantic roast beef and Swiss cheese sandwich. Seriously.
"I need to eat a large meal before I play, and the one thing that was kind of consistent in every single clubhouse at least in the minors was a roast beef sandwich," Scherzer told the New York Post of how he developed the strange pre-game ritual.
"So that kind of stuck there, and it just kind of stuck in the big leagues as well."
