
Tammy Kovaluk is a sports trainer and strength coach based in Bend, OR. She is a strength and conditioning coach with experience in almost all sports, especially football and baseball. Tammy is also the owner of Rise Challenge Events, which puts on themed obstacle course races along with obstacle race and tactical based training. She was a competitive amateur boxer, cross country runner, triathlete (competing in the the Ironman World Champsionships in Kona, 2009), and elite Spartan Obstacle Course Racer where she placed 2nd elite female master's (10th overall) in the 2016 Spartan World's Ultra Beast in Lake Tahoe (2016). Tammy placed 1st overall (both females and males) in the 2019 SUCK race, a 12-hour overnight challenge that involved carrying heavy loads, military calisthenics, rucking, and functional strength workouts. She is currently training for the "Ultimate SUCK," named as one of the nation's top grueling fitness competition that combines strenuous Midwestern farm chores with military boot camp, trail running, rucking, strongman and more over a 36 hour time period. Tammy is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSCS through the NSCA and a corrective exercise specialist (FMS Level 2). Her degrees include a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria and an MS in Kinesiology & Sports Conditioning from AT Still University in Mesa, AZ. Tammy brings over 20 years of experience in training, nutrition consulting, and coaching to the table. She has helped numerous athletes attain scholarships, successfully complete Special Forces Selection, get their first win, and achieve goals (such as conquering an obstacle race after post injury or sedentary) they had not thought possible. Physical training has changed her life, and she is passionate and dedicated to helping others achieve their fitness goals.
